Come on now...who says Lost is getting worse?
Well you, "Mr. I-think-Lost-is-getting-worse-every-week" watch this weeks episode and now bow down to your masters Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof.
Superb this week (HA! Like every week! (except that frightfully awful Charlie episode) *Shudders* Unclean!) And ended even better...CHARLIE IS GOING TO DIE!
So anyway this was a Desmond Flashback, a great 3 dimensional character with a dark and interesting background, and therefore and a great episode. So then, it deals with the ever growing mystery of "How can Desmond see the future?" Answer? His life flashed before his eyes when he turned the fail safe key, and since the flashes have court up with him in the present and he can now see and alter the future but the problem is that "fate has a way of course correcting." This means if you saved a man from being ran over he would be crush by falling scaffolding the next day, if you stopped that from happening, the next day he might slip in the shower and break his neck. This is the idea the episode is based on. Basically, as this post is UK pace and can say what I like, we are shown that Desmond was never trying to save Claire, he was trying to save Charlie. The lightning hit Claire's tent but Charlie was electrocuted, Desmond changed this. Charlie drowned trying to save Claire, Desmond changed this. But by the end of the episode Desmond tells Charlie he is not going to save him anymore and Charlies time is up.
Head cracking right? Well watch it maybe it will make more sense.
Rating: 5/5 - Best...Lost...ever.
Next Week - Episode 309 - Stranger in a Strange Land
